The profile score in the ASAT is a scaled mark to make each component score has the equal value. The raw reading writing, mathematics and general ability test scores are scaled to a mean (average) of 60 and a standard deviation (spread) of 12. Then two third of the reading score and one third of the writing score are combined to form the scaled English score. The scaled scores in English, mathematics and general ability are then added and rounded to two decimal places to make the profile score out of 300.
